Skiing the Planet

"Mongolia is kind of close, right?" Story about an attempt to ski everywhere in the world where there's snow. And in some places where there isn't. On and off-piste skiing on all continents, skiing into craters of live volcanoes, climbing, photography, and travel.

The blog about skiing around the world. The most recent blog articles can be found here:

Click here for the main site. There is also a full list, an off-piste guide, services "approved by the Planetskier", and a map.

The fifth part of a list of all blog articles can be found below. The list began in part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4 and continues in part 5, part 6 and part 7.

Fine Weather Road Only
Driving in New Zealand, we found a closed road labeled as "Fine Weather Road Only". We ended up not driving the whole route, even if it would have saved us 40 kilometers... but we tested the first stream passing.

Texas Ski Ranch
Howdy! Everything is big in Texas. Except maybe the ski areas. To be exact, there are no ski areas, just a snowboarding hill made of plastic. But, there is still plenty of sunshine, water, speed, and yes, plastic.

The end is near. Of the winter. My friend Jarne suggested that I visit Meri-Teijo, but the ski area closed just a couple of days before I arrived, due to the spring-like weather we've had for some weeks. This did not stop me from visiting, however.
