Spring. Ski resorts are closing. But there's a bright spot in all this warm summer-waiting bullshit: my car is broken. Why is that a bring spot, you ask? Because now I got a loaner car that is able to drive longer than the to nearby grocery store, and I can do a ski trip with it. And I did, went on a 700+ km day trip to ski in four ski resorts, Mielakka in Kouvola, Myllymäki in Joutseno, Ruokolahden Freeski, and finally Konka Ski in Simpele, And from top of hill at Konka ski .. you can see Russia, just 4 kilometers away.
The view to Russia is at the picture above.
All four are wonderful ski resorts, and fun to ski them late in the season, still running actively, with groups of kids (and me!) enjoying the snow play.
They are small resorts, for sure. But each has a good cafeteria, lifts, and enough slopes for different types of snow fun, be it plain skiing, steeper runs, or parks for the snowboarders.
And here's my route:
The four places in more detail:
Mielakka, Kouvola. The first one of my tour. Their home page is here, but sadly their journey has ended since my trip to a bankruptcy :-(

Myllymäki, Joutseno. Their home page is here.

Ruokolahden Freeski, Ruokolahti. Their home page is here.
This place rocks! So much vibe. Lots of different runs, ski jumping tower, ... and a lake. Did I mention the lake?
Five years later, I visited them after-season as well (article (alt. link), alt. link).

Konka Ski, Simpele. Their home page is here. The last one on my tour, then I returned home.
